With spring in full force, the trees and flowers are budding and the bugs are out. So protect yourself from the sun, bugs, and working your body too hard. Wear sunscreen even on cloudy days and wear protective clothing. Use Insect repellent for mosquitoes and especially ticks.
There has been a report out saying there is a new virus that is being carried by ticks that is similar to Lyme Disease but acts quicker and is more deadly. Proper clothing is important, so try to wear smooth pants that make it hard for tick to latch onto. Tuck your pant leg into your socks. Wearing a hat is also good not only for sun protection but to keep the little bugs out of your hair. Also us- ing a tape style lint remover over your cloths will remove the ticks as well.
When doing winter yard clean up and gardening; remember that you haven’t worked those same muscles all winter, so take it slow at first and pay attention to what your body is telling you. You want to enjoy the outdoors so take care not to hurt yourself in the process.
