04/2018 Happy Spring

  Happy Spring!!
The temperatures are getting warmer, the flowers are starting to bloom and we have survived another winter.
With spring come many different issues to start thinking about.
➢ Cleaning up the yard and gardens.
o Be sure to stay safe.
o If you haven’t worked out this winter start out slow in the garden so you don’t hurt yourself. Remember to warm up stretching those muscles you will be using. For example if you are going to be raking be sure to stretch the arms and legs actually for raking you need to warm up everything.
o Remember to take breaks, and
    o Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!!!
➢ Bugs, bugs everywhere.
o Ticks will be out and hungry so wear protective clothing and be sure to check yourself when you come in. Someone told me of a neat trick to find ticks by useing a sticky clothing roller. It picks up any ticks that may be on you clothes.
Playing Outdoors
o Again be safe. Remember to warm up and be sure to wear proper clothing for that activity.
o Also if you are into hiking you may want to purchase. The NH Hike Safe Card which can be purchase at the NH Fish & Game website. http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/safe/index.html The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is authorized to sell voluntary Hike Safe Cards for $25 per person and $35 per family. People who obtain the cards are not liable to repay rescue costs if they need to be rescued.
o Be Sure to take breaks, and
    o Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!!!

Are you getting the message about hydrating?
Staying hydrated is of vital importance all the time but when you start taxing your body it needs the water to keep everything flowing properly. When I say hydrate, water is best. Sometimes you need be a drink that has electrolytes especially if you are sweating a lot. Anything with caffeine, and sugary drinks should be avoided.
So enjoy the spring weather but be mindful about what you are doing so you can continue enjoying the wonderful world that God created.
